Music

Posted by DareDevilGuy Nov. 22, 2007 @ 2:35 PM EST

I need new music. New music to listen to. I was wondering if the kind NG user database could help me out. To find out what kind of music I like you can look on my favorite audio submissions here on newgrounds but here's also a list of bands I enjoy a lot:

1. Audioslave
2. Meat Loaf
3. Guano Apes
4. Good Charlotte (They have some awesome songs, but also some extremely lousy ones)
5. Guns N Roses
6. HelloGoodbye
7. Nickelback
8. Nirvana
9. Pink Floyd
10. POD
11. Queen
12. Red Hot Chili Peppers
13. Staind
14. Three Doors Down
15. Tower of Power
16. Vanilla Sky
17. Weezer

and my all-time favorite Breaking Benjamin (apart from them I enjoy Three Doors Down and Staind the most).

There are of course some bands I'm missing out on this, but it should give a general idea of the kind of music I'm into. So any of you people able to show me some new bands or perhaps new albums of one of the listed bands so I might check them out?

Public Image Ltd. aka Pil. Especially their two first albums, Public Image and Metal Box. This is some groundbreaking post-punk shite.

You have a good taste. As far as I'm concerned,
ELO might be your thing, might not.

Their first concerts are absolute shit, whilst they pick up as their career picks up. Mr. Blue Sky, Turn To Stone, and Summer And Lighting are song I would reccomend.

Otherwise there's Supertramps, before the whole band broke up. After that time, they had a lead-singer that was shit. Songs such as 'Breakfast in America' and 'The Logical Song' are great.
Check em' out.

I can't help you more than that, since your taste pretty much looks like mine when it comes to rock.

Try some music from this decade.

Mar. 11, 2008 | 12:03 PM DareDevilGuy responds:

I would, however music this decade is lacking.

What bands would you suggest then?

Mar. 5, 2008 | 2:39 PM Evark says:

A Perfect Circle, Tool, Three Days Grace, Rage Against the Machine, Soundgarden, Filter, Faith No More, Seven Mary Three, Avenged Sevenfold, Socialburn, System of a Down, Disturbed, and Saliva are all bands I would recommend you, though you may find you'll like some more than others. You also might not like some of them upon initially listening, but as your old music tastes acclimate to the new music, you'll come around to enjoy it.

I'm basing this off the fact that I like a lot of the music you've mentioned here a lot and enjoy these similar bands. You also seem to have a pretty similar taste in music to my buddy, so a couple of those recommendations are stuff he likes.

Mar. 11, 2008 | 12:03 PM DareDevilGuy responds:

I'll try some of them. I've heard about most of them before but never bothered to look them up.

Meat Loaf and Good Charlotte suck.

Mar. 11, 2008 | 12:02 PM DareDevilGuy responds:

Because I actually believe your opinion matters.

Your list lacks talent.

Yet again, I was really asking for opinions.

Apr. 9, 2008 | 9:37 AM Cyberdevil says:

I know all of those except for Tower of Power, great bands, every single one! The numbers 1,2,7,8,9,11,12 are some I agree would fit in the list of bestbands ever created.

I like your style of music!
How about simple plan?

Apr. 9, 2008 | 1:30 PM BaronVonBadGuy says:

Melvins, Tool, Ween, Mr Bungle, Primus to name a few, you probably won't like them all, but when it comes to original music, these are the guys to listen to.

primus, rage against the machine and mudvayne may be in your league.

ewwww fuck i was going to comment with something useful when i saw a bug crawling on my pillow which i was holding *cries*
i threw my pillow on the floor but idk where buggy went
waaaaaa it wasnt even a not so gross but
it was an unidentifiable pointy black fast moving thingie *shudders*
make it go away... make it go away
AND GOD DAMMIT FOR THAT MATTER MAKE MY PARENTS STOP WATCHING THE FUCKING TV AND COME KILL IT

music: greenday - fave band... i dont like 90% of the stuff you listed/ havent heard 90% but im close minded when it comes to music so thats to be expected

when random unidentifiable bug shock wears off/ my parents kill it/ i find it and its FAR away from me or turns out to be a piece of triangle shaped lint that can somehow move ill be more useful

until than *cries* MAKE IT GO AWAY PLEASEEEEEE JUST MAKE IT GO AWAY

Gee buddy, "Audioslave" would have to be the worst spelling of Rage Against the Machine I have ever seen.

Jun. 16, 2008 | 3:41 AM DareDevilGuy responds:

Somehow I love Audioslave but not RAtM. Well, of course RAtM has some awesome songs, but I enjoy Audioslave better. Must be because I love singing.
